It is one of twenty-five Liberty Townships statewide. “Our walkability vision is a very large puzzle and as much as I’d like to finish it in one sitting, it happens one project at a time as we get grant money and form private/public partnerships,’’ said Trustee Tom Farrell. 1856 map of Liberty Township, Trumbull County, Ohio. Work is expected to begin in June and be completed by the end of August. Schumacher Dugan Construction will build the 10-foot wide asphalt hiking/biking path. “This is a great project for us a great amenity for people throughout the township,’’ said Bryan Behrmann, the township’s director of planning and zoning. The path will cross a culvert on the tributary of Gregory Creek. The hiking/biking path will begin at the Turnbridge subdivision off Millikin Road and ends at near the fishing ponds at Cherokee Park, south of Kyles Station Road. Its goal is to connect different parts of the community through a system of trails. It is part of the township’s Trails plan adopted six years ago in the vision plan. – By the end of summer a one-mile, paved path will connect Millikin Road and the northern end of Cherokee Park, near the fishing pond.
